Soulcalibur (ソウルキャリバー, Sōrukyaribā) is a weapon-based 3D fighting game developed by Project Soul and produced by Namco. It is the second game in the Soul series, preceded by Soul Edge in December 1995. Originally released in arcades in July 1998, it ran on the Namco System 12 hardware. It was ported to the Dreamcast in 1999 with new features and improved graphics. The North American version was released in September 1999 as a launch title for the Dreamcast and was part of the successful launch of the new console. It became available as a downloadable title on the Xbox 360’s Xbox Live Marketplace in July 2008 and it is backwards compatible with the Xbox One along with the sequel. A sequel, Soulcalibur II, was released in July 2002.
Like when Tekken 7 was released last year, I'm going to attempt to complete as much of Soulcalibur VI as possible in one sitting. Considering how the Libra of Soul achievements are looking, I think that this may not be possible but I'm going to give it a try.
Bandai-Namco held a little sale on Xbox Live last week where I was able to snag a few games in the Soulcalibur franchise. Ever since finding the Soulcalibur IV disc in the Soulcalibur V that I had picked up on the cheap I've been on the lookout for SCV for a decent price. I also purchased Soulcalibur II HD Online even though it only had 400G worth of achievements.
