Xbox One System Update arrives next week

Microsoft has just revealed a sneak peek at the upcoming update which is due to be released into testing early next week. The system will be getting a new Guide which has been designed to make multitasking much simpler and to make certain features much more obvious in the menu screen such as a the controller battery indicator or the clock.

Earlier this month Xbox Wire released a blog post which listed a large number of 2017 Xbox releases; the blog post excluded the upcoming action-RPG Scalebound and Microsoft has finally confirmed that production for the game has ended.

“The Reign of You” released for Xbox users

Microsoft has launched a new online website in celebration of its users and their Xbox gaming achievements during 2016; the new website is named “The Reign of You” and it displays a range of facts about you account however, the data used to generate this is only from January to October which means some new blockbuster games from November are skipped over.

Following the 2015 Xbox store sale, Microsoft has brought back the Countdown sale; it's due to begin in a few days time and is scheduled to last for 19 days to bring in the new year.

Microsoft is teasing a new Halo 5: Guardians DLC

New content seems to be coming for Halo 5: Guardians as Microsoft is teasing the release of new DLC for the game. A new Twitter post from the official Halo channel says “Shall we play a game?” which seems to be referencing a new multiplayer game mode.

New details about the long-awaited sequel to Crackdown 2 are slowly being released by Microsoft; the company has now confirmed that the game is scheduled for a holiday 2017 release date which put it down to be released around the same time as the Xbox Scorpio next year.

Xbox Store Black Friday deals starts tomorrow

Microsoft is starting Black Friday a full week early this year and the company has just released a special trailer to commemorate the massive sale event which includes over 250 game deals. The Xbox Store Black Friday sale starts on November 18th and will be ending on the 28th, several days after the real Black Friday which takes place on the 25th.
