Following the 2015 Xbox store sale, Microsoft has brought back the Countdown sale; it's due to begin in a few days time and is scheduled to last for 19 days to bring in the new year.

Microsoft has released a teaser video for the event which reveals that over 350 deals will be available throughout the sale; this is up from the 200 deals which were available last year across games, movies, TV shows and more. The massive sale has been confirmed by Microsoft to be the biggest sale in the history of the Xbox Store which means that gamers can expect to see great deals on recently released games such as Watch Dogs 2 and Final Fantasy XV.

The full line-up hasn't been released yet but Microsoft has confirmed that some of the biggest games of the year will be included in the sale; including titles such as Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Gears of War 4 and Dead Rising 4. It's also been confirmed that over 40 backwards compatible games will be included in this sale and users of both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 will be able to participate in this sale event.

The Black Friday event deal for the Xbox Live Gold membership has returned; new members will be able to purchase their first membership for only $1 however, this is exclusive to people who have never purchased it before.

The Xbox Countdown sale begins on December 22nd and will be ending on January 9th; there will be special daily deals on different games each day with further reduced prices and Microsoft has confirmed that there will also be rotating weekly sales for games, movies, TV shows and more.
