Steep Open Beta and Overwatch are free this weekend

Overwatch

This is a nice weekend for all gamers with two games from the biggest developers being available for free this weekend; Blizzard's FPS game Overwatch and Ubisoft's MMO sport game Steep are both available for players to test for free all weekend.

Steep is hosting an open beta all weekend so this is not the full game but Ubisoft have confirmed that three areas will be completely open for players to explore; it includes a large number of challenges to complete such as story-driven events, time-trials and races.

The open beta allows players to test each of the four different sports featured in the game which have unique challenges designed around them; as the mountain range based area is an open world, players can explore the areas fully and switch between sports at any time. Steep is due for a December release and the open beta will end on November 21st so this is a good chance to check the game out.

Overwatch is one of the biggest FPS games currently available for all of the biggest platforms and the entire game will be open for this weekend; the full character roster, weekly brawl, custom games and all maps will be unlocked.

As a bonus, Overwatch is currently on sale at $36 for Xbox One players as it's included in the Xbox Live Black Friday sale event which began on the 18th. The free weekend will be ending on November 21st at 4PM PT however the discounted price will be around for another week so there's no need to purchase the game as quickly as possible.

Both Overwatch and Steep are definitely worth testing this weekend; the Steep open beta and free Overwatch weekend are also available for the PC and PlayStation 4.
