Gears of War 4 is getting a Competitive Multiplayer test
The developer behind Gears of War 4 has just announced that the game will be getting a competitive multiplayer trial this weekend; this test will determine how The Coalition handles the future competitive multiplayer modes in the future.
Community manager, TC Octus, has revealed that this competitive multiplayer test is also testing the cross-play systems between the Xbox One and PC versions of the game; this will be the first time that Xbox One and PC players can battle in the public Versus mode.
The cross-play competitive multiplayer test is due to begin on Friday December 3rd and will last for the entirety of the weekend where it will end Moday December 5th ; the community manager revealed that this test will be using a special Versus playlist for the testing perdiod. This playlist will include three of the most popular multiplayer modes: Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill and Dodgeball.
All players who take part in this special cross-play multiplayer event will be rewarded nicely with Experience Points; for this weekend only, winning matches will reward players with 1500 XP while losing matches will provides 750 XP. These high XP rewards will only be available this weekend however and they will return to normal once the test has completed on Monday.
This test includes all maps in the game including the recently released DLC maps: Checkout and Drydock.
While we know the test lasts for the entire weekend, the timezone for the cross-play multiplayer test hasn't been revealed yet so players will need to keep an eye out for these details throughout the weekend.
