Elder Scrolls Online 5 day Free Weekend event is this week

The free weekend event has finally been confirmed for Xbox One owners and it's starting much sooner than expected; the game will be completely free to play from Wednesday at 12:01 AM EST.

Elder Scrolls Online was first released in 2014 and lost its subscription fee in 2015 leaving it as a buy-to-play MMORPG set in the Elder Scrolls universe. It only needs a one time purchase to play now and the recent One Tamriel expansion has unlocked almost every area for new players making this a good time to give it a try.

The free weekend will be concluding on Sunday the 27th at 11:59 PM EST giving players a full 5 days to explore the vast land of Tamriel and see what the MMORPG has to offer.

Playing the game requires an active Xbox Live Gold subscription as it is an online game and ESO needs around 80 GB of space on the hard drive to download.
