This year I'm going to be easing back on the Gamerscore farming and focusing on completing and reducing my games backlog. The rules are simple; Each fortnight is associated to a letter, "the" is removed from the start of titles, and I can't start a new game if it's not on the list. My main focus is to not buy as many games this year as I did last year. *shakes fist at Xbox's sales*
It's now painfully obvious that I play games differently to others. I had joked with a co-worker just before playing Borderlands 2 online with him for the first time that I played a very different style. From what he told me, he didn't expect what he saw. I was fearless, and that wasn't always a good thing. If there was a point that I had to get to, I was already half way there before he could turn around. I don't loot boxes for ammo, I just run, shoot, kill, pick up what ever was on them, and keep running. I don't think it's because I want to finish the game faster, I just don't see the point in us wasting time in a fictional world where death is not permanent. Sure, games such as The Last of Us, the Silent Hill series, The Evil Within and Alan Wake did change the way that I played for those game, but overall I still had this "throw caution to the wind" play style where I didn't care too much about the outcome be it good or bad.
